Malek joined Greenstone Partners in 2022 and focuses on retail and multi-family investment sales throughout Chicago’s core neighborhoods. He has deep expertise in Chicago zoning and land use laws and excels in navigating projects with complex entitlement and financing structures, including new developments, conversions, and adaptive reuse opportunities.
Beyond real estate, Malek serves on the board of directors for several civic organizations, including Lambda Alpha International (LAI), the Burnham Council at the Chicago Central Area Committee (CCAC), and the Streeterville Organization of Active Residents (SOAR). He is also the author of the Streeterville Neighborhood Plan (2014, 2022) and an active participant in various community planning initiatives focused on downtown Chicago, including the Chicago Central City Recovery Roadmap and the Chicago Neighborhoods Now initiative. His work reflects a deep commitment to shaping Chicago’s urban landscape through thoughtful investment and strategic community engagement.
Malek holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also a recipient of the American Planning Association – Illinois Award.
